Mountain Valleys Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D), through its Energy Cost-share Assistance Program (EnergyCAP), aims to continue the successes of its AgEnergy Grant Program. Since 2008 EnergyCAP has reduced energy costs on 50+ farms with funding from NC TTFC, USDA-REAP, NCDA-ADFP, TVA, and NARCS-Conservation Innovation Grants. The current request would administer 50% cost-share grants to qualified WNC farmers to assist in the development of energy improvement projects that will decrease farm energy expenses. Projects may include solar PV or solar hot water renewable energy generation systems, lighting and insulation upgrades, high tunnel plastic replacement, greenhouse improvements, and more.
