Wayne Community College’s Sustainable Agriculture – Green Machines

This project will alter cargo shipping containers to become hydroponic crop growing vessels that will be used to establish an eastern NC training center and model for high school and college students, farmers, transitional farmers, entrepreneurs, and community members to learn about sustainable agriculture. This project will assist the curriculum of the Sustainable Agriculture degree program encouraging additional students to learn this technology. This will also allow the College to offer new sustainable agriculture continuing education courses for the community at large.
