Sustaining Working Farms Through Conservation
Project will build on the ongoing work of North Carolina Land Trusts to contact tobacco farmers and buyout participants to make them more aware of conservation easements as a tool to protect their farms, keep them in farming, and provide tax incentives and other economic benefits. The project will use the results of outreach activities for Phases One and Two and the Farmland Conservation Plan (FCP) developed through May 2005 “Tobacco Buyout Farmland Conservation Planning” grant.
