Strengthening Markets ? Educating Farmers, Consumers
Project strengthens markets by educating farmers on ways to increase sales at direct markets. It educates consumers about NC produce to increase their purchases of fruits and vegetables. Utilizing the ?Produce Lady,? the program consists of 22 educational videos about selection, preparation, and storage of fresh produce. It includes a resource section online consisting of videos, recipes and news columns that Extension agents may localize to support farmers markets. It includes demonstrations, a blog and appearances capturing 75,000 weekly viewers of UNC-TV?s ?Almanac Gardener.?
