Soil Health for Farmland Preservation

The NC Foundation for Soil and Water Conservation will further statewide farmland preservation initiatives by providing mini grants to Soil and Water Conservation Districts to increase technical capacity through the purchase of equipment and software that increases on-farm efficiencies, improves soil health, and ultimately leads to increased participation in VAD/EVAD and conservation easement programs. The outcomes will include a greater number of landowners that have a clear path forward to maintain profitable farm operations thereby promoting multiple pathways for the preservation of North Carolina’s working lands
