“Smarty Plants”-Hydroponics Smart Farm

The establishment and implementation of the hydroponics Smart Farm at James Sprunt Community College will provide new and innovative educational experiences for area agriculture students by establishing and providing horticulture and smart farming credential opportunities, while utilizing advanced agricultural technologies, minimizing environmental impact, and preserving precious natural resources. By growing a diverse range of crops in the Smart Farm, we can reduce our dependence on imported produce, strengthen food security, and promote healthier eating habits for area students and citizens.
