Research and Education Farm Equipment
Wingate University launched an agricultural food systems concentration in the fall of 2022 to build on Union County?s agricultural strength while also addressing pockets of food insecurity. To support the program, the University has leased eight acres of land over the next ten years at the Union County Agricultural and Event Complex to develop a research and education farm that will benefit students and local farmers. Much-needed equipment will be purchased for the Wingate University Research and Education Farm that will include a storage container to house farming tools and supplies and a greenhouse with a remote monitoring system.
