Rental Equipment for Small Farms

The Buncombe County Agricultural and Land Resource Department will purchase a lime and a manure spreader to make available for rent for small farms. Liming and manure application aid in soil fertility, soil health, increased water retention, along with providing a responsible outlet for animal waste. This equipment will be available to any Buncombe County landowner, we estimate 100 using it in the first 5 years. Just about any type of crop or pastureland can benefit from the application of lime and/or manure. Locally we have significant pastureland/hay production, corn, vegetables and fruits. We have received interest from all producers.
