NC Commodity Co-operative Marketing Project

Year Funded

2016

Amount

$100,000

This project will assist the state’s farms and ranches to increase sales of their produce and meats through the shared cost of new marketing efforts directed to consumers. The project will build upon part of a 2013-2015 NCTTFC grant which enabled many NC commodity associations to successfully develop their marketing capabilities. This project will focus primarily on effectively utilizing those capabilities to increase sales for those commodities. Farms and ranches selling directly to food service, retail or consumer, and are not supported by a commodity association in cost-share funds for their marketing efforts. Supported projects would be targeted toward efforts producing tangible, short and long term sales results rather than brand awareness, directly benefiting the farmer/rancher with increased sales and revenue.
