Mobile Soils Classroom

The Wilkes Soil & Water Conservation District (WSWCD) will build a Mobile Soils Classroom to provide students with an interactive, walk-thru learning experience about soil and its role in the ecosystem and their lives. The classroom will allow WSWCD to ?take the field trip to the classroom.? The Mobile Soils Classroom will promote agriculture in NC through soil and water health education, while also providing pre-K-12 students an unforgettable and fun learning experience, inspiring them to learn more, and hopefully pursue a related career in agriculture. The classroom will be used statewide and reach 18,500 participants the first year.
