Mobile Poultry Processing Unit

NC Cooperative Extension and the Richmond County government will purchase and maintain a mobile processing unit for those who raise and want to sell pastured poultry flocks in the Sandhills. NC Cooperative Extension Livestock Agents will also provide training on processing techniques and safe meat handling practices. All necessary equipment will be purchased, trainings will be offered, and the equipment will be rented to producers. Having a mobile processing will allow farmers to increase their farm income without having to invest a significant amount of money into processing equipment.
