The project will support three primary areas: 1) develop alternative propagation methods to support N.C.’s strawberry nursery industry that has struggled with significant disease issues; 2) test and validate the economics and feasibility of off-season strawberry production; and 3) develop new strawberry cultivars that combine grower and consumer preferred traits.
