Johnston County Cooperative Extension will acquire portable cattle handling equipment and make it available to area cattle producers at low rental cost. Use of this equipment will improve the health and efficiency of beef cattle herds while adding value to feeder calves and ensuring the safety of workers engaged in the management of beef cattle. We will additionally implement a feeder calf preconditioning program to provide technical assistance, training, and records assistance to producers of beef cattle.
